Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

RevizionBot ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who we are

RevizionBot is an AI-powered revision platform built for CCEA GCSE students in Northern Ireland. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at hello@revizionbot.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account information — your email address and (optionally) your name when you sign up.
  • Usage data — which features you use, flashcard progress, mock exam scores, study streaks, and session timestamps. This is used to personalise your experience.
  • Payment information — billing details are collected and stored by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
  • AI interactions — messages sent to the AI Tutor and content you upload for flashcard generation. These are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses and are not stored beyond the session unless you save them.
  • Device and browser data — basic information such as your browser type and IP address, collected automatically by our hosting provider (Vercel).

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the RevizionBot service.
  • To personalise your learning (e.g. spaced-repetition scheduling, dashboard stats).
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe.
  • To send important service emails (e.g. password resets, billing receipts). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party providers, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (EU data residency).
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • OpenAI — AI responses for the tutor, exam marking, and flashcard generation.
  • Vercel — web hosting and edge delivery.

5. Cookies

We use a single session cookie (sb-*-auth-token) to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymised usage statistics may be retained longer.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Email hello@revizionbot.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

RevizionBot is designed for students aged 14 and over. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by a notice on the platform. Continued use of RevizionBot after changes constitutes acceptance.
